Bookings / Cancelling / Postponing

Regrettably, we cannot accept bookings until the moving date is established. This means that contracts must be exchanged or a tenancy agreement needs to be signed before we can accept a booking.

To secure our services for a desired day, we require a 50% upfront deposit. Upon completion of the work, the remaining balance is due immediately. You can settle this balance using either a debit or credit card. Look out for an email with the subject line “Outstanding Payment” for further instructions.
Upon completion of the work, we process the outstanding payment by automatically debiting the credit or debit card used to make the initial deposit when the quote was accepted. If for any reason we are unable to charge the provided card, we will reach out to you via phone or email to request immediate payment. Please note that all our invoices are payable upon receipt.
Should you choose to cancel or reschedule your booking, our refund policy for the deposit is based on the notice period provided: 1. If you provide more than 21 calendar days notice, we can refund your deposit in full, subject to a handling charge of £10 or 2%. 2. If the notice period is less than 21 calendar days, we regret that the deposit cannot be refunded.

Yes! We ensure the secure transportation of items use protective coverings for a wide range of items:

  • Kitchen appliances including Refrigerators, Washing Machines, Dishwashers, Tumble Dryers, Microwaves, and Tall Fridge Freezers, all under protective covers.

  • Couches and Reclining Chairs
  • Pianos

No, it’s part of our core service.

Of course! Basic furniture such as tables and shelves are included free of charge. More complicated and heavy furniture such as bunk beds and wardrobes are charged extra.
For the most part on the moving day. If there is an unusually high number of items that need to be dismantled then we might do it the day before.

Storage

Yes, we provide storage services at our facility.

Our minimum is one week. We don’t have a maximum. Please call us to find out more.

We’re not a fixed-term storage provider. If you need a week, two, a month, or longer we can help.

No, we are not that type of storage service. Our storage services are reserved for our customers who also use our moving services.

Packing

Yes! We offer a fully-fledged packing service. We also offer a fragile packing service.

Unless special arrangements have been made it will generally be a day before your move.

Yes! We can provide you with free packing boxes and wardrobe boxes for your move.

We will provide you with packing boxes after your booking is confirmed and a short time before your moving day.

If you require packing boxes in advance, earlier than one week before your moving date, please contact us to discuss.

This depends on the booking and circumstances. We will either deliver them or you can collect them from us. Please email us at info@bestratedremovals.co.uk for more information.
We can’t provide this. You would need to purchase them yourself. We recommend WHSmith locally or online at Amazon.

Appliance Connections / Reconnections

No. The reason is that we are not certified plumbers and our insurance does not cover this.

Protecting Your Property

We will protect your property and leave it in the same condition. We do a few different things to ensure your property is protected (moving from and moving into):
  • Protecting your front door.
  • Protecting any hard floors.
  • Protecting your carpets.
  • Protecting all banisters.

Day Of Moving

For the most part we start moves early at between 8am to 8:30am.

It reallyu depends on the size of your property. A small flat might take four hours. A large five bedroom home might be a 10 hour job.

If you have a strict deadline of 12 noon to be out of your property as the new owner is moving in the same day we can work with you on this.

We need to be made aware of this beforehand. But, we generally can cater to this requirement as we will allocate enough staff and trucks to make sure you’re out by the deadline.

International Moves

No, we can’t. We can move you anywhere in the UK. But not abroad.

Office Moves

Yes! We do all kinds of office moves from small family offices all the way to large 100+ seat offices.

Yes! Our quotes include good in-transit insurance.
